Theses sketch collages were created from fashion magazine pages that were cut  to the shape of the garments created for the fashion parade RENEW RUNWAY   These were incredibly fun to make and are now part of a visual diary in the SKETCHBOOK PROJECT at the BROOKLYN LIBRARY  in New York

I present to you The Waste Gateway made for  The Sustainable Living Festival 2018  Great Local Lunch  Installing the archway The theme of the Sustainable Living Festival this year was about Food Waste and was delighted to be able to participate once again in this festival which is very meaningful to me and I am grateful for the 4th year to be been making temporal sculptural assemblages. For this year I wanted to create a more immersive assemblage that people would respond to. The archway was created thanks to the many of the SLF volunteers, friends and neighbours who kept collecting through summer for this creation hundreds of fruit or vegetable plastic packaging. These single-use transparent punnets were assembled with used white packaging straps gathered. A great turnout this weekend for the official launch at  the Newstead Arts Hub of Organic Plastic. Agathe, Louise, myself, Julie & Mary Speeches took place between Julie Patey of the Newstead Arts Hub , Mary Blain of Mount Alexander Sustainability group in Castlemaine (MASG)and Louise Jiricek launching her new community project Boomerang Bags Newstead. here with Louise The crowd included Juliet from the local primary school. Some of the children  came to view and show their parents the artwork they put together with trash during our Art & Sustainability workshops at school last week.

This year was a huge event in new premises at the old Melbourne Meat Market. The crowd that came (braving the cold) was amazing and the ambiance in this venue was magical. French food, design, travel combined with lectures and talks made it a special event for all. To add to this, pass the garden and in the stable was La Galerie 17, representing 5 French artists! I was thrilled to be able to present my work in this large warehouse and perfect as a gallery space. Tall ceilings and white walls with natural light coming through was the perfect combination to present art! with curator Heather Van Heerwaarden

INSECT HABITATS  WORKSHOP The first creative collaboration is making Insect Habitat table decorations as part of the National Sustainable Living Festival 2017. The Great Local Lunch is a community collaboration held on Sunday 12th February 2017 at 12.30pm. Carolyn and Deb will conduct a free workshop on February 6th to engage the public in creating functional and interesting table decorations for The Great Local Lunch guests. Volunteers are needed at a workshop to help create new habitat  for our diminishing insect population Keep the date and come along on Monday 6th February 7-9pm St Kilda eco-centre (St Kilda Botanical Gardens)  Please bring some organic material and manmade containers to assemble these habitats  Start gathering material for the event such as: dry organic matter              leaves       twigs       pine cones       grass       nuts        flowers newspaper       corrugated cardboard       plastic/metal containers       plastic straws    sticks The Great Local lunch this year will be another amazing lunch served along the Yarra river. For Immerse Art Festival I have chosen to exhibit at Knox Community Arts Centre a work titled Fan-Tastic. This work has been developing for the last 2 years. Finding and collecting new plastic means adding new pieces to Fan-Tastic, a massive wave of circular plastic assemblage. Single-use plastic are the plague of the last 60 years spreading over the past 2 centuries as we consume them at a rapid rate for 5-20mns and then throw them away. But where do they actually go?  Out of sight doesn't mean away away as society slowly is realising this fact, plastic is now coming to haunt us because plastic doesn't disappear... It stays and it lays there polluting in full sight our landscapes around the world contributing to gigantic open air dumps created to hide and get rid of our massive plastic consumption. Plastic also floats in our oceans which harms our sea life as they feed on it. Fan-Tastic represents some of the beautiful sea creatures disapearing in our oceans.  ...
