Cube 37 -Frankston until 1 September 2017

 Connected 2017 Polyethylene and Led Lights My new illuminated work is on at Cube 37 in a new exhibition encompassing ideas of connection for a group show in August this year. This artist talk was on last Saturday's at Cube 37 with a great turn out indeed. Thank you, Angela, for your lovely words it has been great to collaborate with you on this project which I hope we will be able to transport to other venues in one form or another this year!

January 30, 2017 Leader  COMMUNITY NEWS South East Carolyn Cardinet’s immersive artwork `Glacier’ highlights impact of plastic contamination Christian Tatman, Frankston Standard Leader AS A painter, Carolyn Cardinet found that the canvas simply wasn’t big enough for her imagination. “Often painting is representative, but I needed it (art) to be immersive,” she told the Leader. “That’s what I wanted to create with painting, but it wasn’t enough. “You can only go so far with painting. I was a bit stifled.” So five years ago, Cardinet moved from away painting and subsequently completed both a Bachelor and Masters of Visual Art. Her latest project titled ‘Glacier’ — on display at Frankston — is a collaboration with multimedia artist Angela Barnett. Cardinet said she came up with the concept after walking along a beach and being struck by the sheer amount of plastic debris that had washed up. Glad to see this very large installation coming together in the Glass Cube Gallery at Cube 37. The Glass Cube is a street frontage exhibition space in the Frankston Art Centre which can be viewed day & night for this Angela Barnett & I have teamed up. This collaborative work has been staged to have a maximum viewing capacity. Angela's work can be seen projected on three giant screens at night and my all white installation can be viewed during daytime from the street. Glacier is a projection and sculptural installation at Frankston's Cube 37

I am rushing through the last hurdles to complete these 2 large scales jellyfish installations made uniquely out of single-use plastic packaging. Monday I will be installing at the Glass Cube at Cube 37 with Angela Barnett who is making of projection of the glaciers and arctic oceans to be viewed at night around my two pendants that will be trailing onto the ground.
