Glad to see this very large installation coming together in the Glass Cube Gallery at Cube 37. The Glass Cube is a street frontage exhibition space in the Frankston Art Centre which can be viewed day & night for this Angela Barnett & I have teamed up. This collaborative work has been staged to have a maximum viewing capacity. Angela's work can be seen projected on three giant screens at night and my all white installation can be viewed during daytime from the street. For Immerse Art Festival I have chosen to exhibit at Knox Community Arts Centre a work titled Fan-Tastic. This work has been developing for the last 2 years. Finding and collecting new plastic means adding new pieces to Fan-Tastic, a massive wave of circular plastic assemblage. Single-use plastic are the plague of the last 60 years spreading over the past 2 centuries as we consume them at a rapid rate for 5-20mns and then throw them away. But where do they actually go?  Out of sight doesn't mean away away as society slowly is realising this fact, plastic is now coming to haunt us because plastic doesn't disappear... It stays and it lays there polluting in full sight our landscapes around the world contributing to gigantic open air dumps created to hide and get rid of our massive plastic consumption. Plastic also floats in our oceans which harms our sea life as they feed on it. Fan-Tastic represents some of the beautiful sea creatures disapearing in our oceans.  ...

I will be installing my work ' Sensorial Falls' this Friday and Saturday for SculptureScape at Lorne Biennale this weekend. I have finished packing the enormous amount of white Polyethylene stands for this installation and will load my car to the brim to take it down early on Friday morning.  Organic Plastic  Working away at completing works for The Castlemaine Arts Festival 'Organic Plastic' is a curated show in boxed framed white windows @ Wide Open Road Art (WORA) cnr Hargraves & Mostyn Sts from March 5th For a while I have been toying with this idea of framing together nature and found objects. Wednesday 25 November 2015, 11.00 am  to  Thursday 31 December 2015, 11.00 pm Carolyn Cardinet's  Like and oil spill, plastic never goes away  is an all black immersive installation comprising assorted discarded black plastic and fibreglass PVC mesh. The exhibition space is transformed into a window that reflects on the state of the ocean seabed. This work is assembled out of the black plastic that Cardinet has collected from Port Phillip Bay and gleaned from the streets around her studio. As the artist states, "Most of the plastic ‘detritus’ appearing in the work passed through someone's hands, used only once before being discarded in the overflowing bins of our city streets before washing up on our shores. The work explicitly asks 'how much more plastic do we need?' With current rates of consumption we are arguably at a point of no return. One can easily foresee the whole sea, like this installation, being strewn with debris that will never disappe...
