Excitement in my YYS studio!

Image
So so exited developing and creating new work in the studio this week. The more I work with this material I realise how much more awesome it is! Giving me so much flexibility, possibilities and pleasure to work with. Not counting the never ending supply of a discarded material available daily. A new work to create awareness of our plastic consumption and its effect on our eco-system

New show at PS50 - White Nights

Image
Starting the new year with a show at PS50 one of the newest alternative galleries in town. The show is about how interesting opposite can be. As Christmas is in summer in Australia, I will be recreating the feeling of the wintery Christmas of my youth with a little difference as it is presented in Melbourne on our long hot summer nights for the month of February 2015. Nine Large snowflakes  created from single use plastic packaging found in our back lanes will be backlit in window boxes along Orr st (opposite cafe). Artist Residency - Day 13 - Star Weekly

Image
A beautiful day in Footscray, further building my totems which I have lined with a different plastic lining each. Lots of people coming in the studio today!  Perhaps this is due to the article on Artsbox artist residency in the Star Weekly November 5, 2014 printed issue by Benjamin Millar and the lovely photo taken by photographer Joe Mastroianni as seen below. The Sustainable Living Festival: Zero Waste Luncheon

Image
ECLECTIC WONDERLAND I am delighted to have been selected to participate in the Melbourne Food and Wine event  organised by the Sustainable Table: a Zero Waste Luncheon   As an experimental artist, the nature of my work involves adapting the materials fossicked and collected. As such the objects become redefined into a plethora of sculptural forms and installations, often informed by creatures from the deep encountered during their washed up journey to our shores. www.sustainabletable.org.au/EventCalendarDetails/tabid/56/2014/2/1218

'Mémoire de Vie' Opening 8 Octobre 2013 6.30-8pm at the Alliance Française de Melbourne 51 Grey St St Kilda All Welcome Gallery open every day till 8 November 2013 Hours: Mond-Thu:9.30am-8pm Frid:9.30am-6pm Sat:9am-6pm Sun: 1pm-6pm

Excitement is in the air….

New Show-Memoire de Vie Gently but surely the artworks  is coming together   for my long awaited solo exhibition  at The Alliance Française   51 Grey St  St Kilda The 'Eildon Gallery'   is situated in the ballroom in the grand mansion  and offers an opportunity to set up works in 2 different areas This show is exiting for me as I am bringing together the full spectrum of my multi-disciplinary practice  in one single venue. 'Mémoire de Vie’   exhibits   the extent of my passion for  painting abstract painting realism  assemblage sculpture  &  installation  As an artist participating in a show means that you may be able to enter only one or two works. While this is a great all worth while and the artist may target only one stream of work from their own practice, it is also wonderful to be invited to have the opportunity to bring it all under one roof...
